Initiatives
Flirt w/ Life has created several initiatives of accountability in our community for accountability, fellowship, encouragement, crisis intervention and prevention and acts of charity.
The first initiative was Million Man Prayer - A Father's Day Barbecue.
We hosted a barbecue at a park in an urban community on Father's Day, we invited and included EVERYONE from that community to participate by enjoying the food and each other's company as we celebrated fathers and encouraged the fatherless. We thank Chicago Park Districts for hosting the past events and we thank all the organizations that prayed, participated, sponsored food and resources and distributed helpful information and resources to the community.
We look forward to hosting again.
Knights at the Park and Knights at the Movies was our second initiative where we hosted movies in the parks for local residents and for motorcycle riders and their families. We also enjoyed the opportunities to host barbecue's for the event patrons. We thank Chicago Park Districts for their consideration and partnership to be able to go into our communities and serve.
We look forward to filling our parks and communities again with a family movie, smiles, laughter and good food.
Through our third initiative, Training Champions, The Mentorship Series, we encourage pre-professionals to have appropriate mentoring relationships with professionals who are willing to give their time and pass on valuable knowledge to young minds.
We do this by offering a generational look at each others experiences in;
We thank our past partner Dave & Buster's, Gold Coast for being the host of the 2016 series and we look forward to our next season.
Our Motorcycle Safety and Awareness is our fourth initiative, and is also an element of the Knights at the Park and Knights at the Movies project. Our priorities are to promote safety and awareness, crisis prevention and to create a safe-haven for riders to safely gather to network and showcase their motorcycles. Through this initiative and partnerships with Illinois Motorcycle Safety Program, The Chicago Park Districts, The Chicago Police Department and The Illinois State Troopers we want to allow our communities in Chicago to see that riders with their helmets off are our neighbors and with our helmets on, we’re still your neighbors! We have had the honor and privilege to ride and showcase our motorcycles in the Bud Billiken Parade and this past summer, we were able to host over 100 motorcycle riders in the beautiful downtown Chicago area - the first one ever hosted at that particular park! Again, we thank the Chicago Police Department, the Chicago Park District, the Illinois Motorcycle Safety Program, the Illinois State Troopers, the riders and all the participants who donated their time and resources to our project.
We look forward to hosting again!
Flirt w/Life also partnered with Angel Tree last Christmas. As a joint effort with our family, friends and other motorcycle riders, we bought, collected and delivered toys to over 50 Chicagoland homes!
We thank and appreciate our partners at Angel Tree and we look forward to serving alongside them again. We also thank the local neighborhood business that allowed us to host the toy collection at their location.
